The Scotsman: Hong Kong to decide on ‘indecent’ bible

17 May 2007

Oh, this is absolutely priceless!

MORE than 800 Hong Kong people have called on authorities to reclassify the Bible as “indecent” due to its sexual and violent content.

The Hong Kong’s Television and Entertainment Licensing authority (TELA) said it had received 838 complaints about the Bible by noon yesterday.

The complaints follow the launch of an anonymous website, www.truthbible.net which said the holy book “made one tremble” given its sexual and violent content.

I hope, I really hope, they have the nerve to do it; just to see the reaction.

Really there’s no way Christians can disagree, because if anyone looks in the bible, they’re bound to find one indecent passage or another. Hopefully people then would actually take the time to read through the bible and find out what it really has in it, and not just what they think is in it.

Though of course we all know what’ll really happen. It will be spared this treatment because it’s a sacred text, and thus deserves special treatment. Shame.

I agree, this would be brilliant.

There's probably no god. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life.
