   Nice idea! It looks great, too. I’ll add a link from PA to PH, much like you did the reverse.

   One thing, though… While there may be cases of bloggers who want to be a part of one but not of the other (say, an anti-humanism atheist, or a humanist who doesn’t identify themselves with atheism), I think most atheist OR humanist bloggers will likely want to be a part of both. I know I do (can you add Way of the Mind? :) ).

   Therefore, won’t the members, and therefore the posts, be mostly the same for both aggregators, with some minor exceptions? Unless you start refusing applications by saying “sorry, you don’t write enough about humanism, you just attack religion” or something like that.

   Don’t think I’m trying to put PH down; much the opposite. I’m simply telling you about a potential problem: having 95% of the members in common with PA. I hope you can avoid that problem, and I’ll be glad to help in any way I can.

   Sorry Null, this is another one of my off-topic comments, but I thought you might be interested in it, since you talked about ‘The Godless Girl’ film.

   On Saturday at 1:00am (so really Sunday morning) the film ‘Wise Blood’ is on BBC2. It’s about a ‘disturbed army veteran who returns to his Bible-thumping deep south home town and becomes a preacher, although atheist’.

   Once again, sorry to be so off topic, but best of luck with Planet Humanism. I don’t really write anything about Humanism, but I look forward to seeing what others have written on the subject.

   @ Pedro

   Personally, I don’t see a problem with having a high percentage of duplication betweeh PA and PH.

   I think we could safely say that the majority of atheist bloggers, and therefore the majority of the contributors to PA consider ourselves to be atheists and humanists. And, on our own blogs, we write a variety of posts, some focusing on atheism and some focusing on humanism. But we don’t just choose the atheistic ones to appear on PA (just as we won’t pick the humanistic ones to appear on PH), they all appear there.

   Even if the majority of contributors are the same, I think it’s a good thing that our writings will all appear in one place with “Humanism” in the title, as well as a place with “Atheism” in the title.

   I like to think of the atheist/humanist blogosphere as a community working together, rather than competing with each other. I think anything that helps to circulate our message, and offer further means of it being found by people who have not yet taken an interest, is a good thing.

   @Pedro,

   Thanks for the support, it’s very much appreciated. To tell you the truth, I wrangled over the point you make for days before I decide to take the step of registering the domain. This was one of the reasons that I made the point myself, and I in no way consider this as competition to PA (which is the first thing I check in the morning) but merely as a complement with a (possibly significant) overlap.

   Tobe seems to have had the same sort of thought processes that I had. Of course, if PH ended up as a clone of PA in all but name, then it would appear to me that PH would have failed somewhat in what I was trying to achieve.

   I’ve been formulating how to refuse “non-humanist” blogs, but so far the current population has a pro-humanist slant in some way. I’m sure I’ll come up with an appropriate response if/when the opportunity presents itself.

   And I’ll be happy to add WOTM, bung me an email at the above address (so I can keep track). :-)

   I wonder, would Parabiodox be eligible?

   On a serious note, I’ve done my bit to spread the word! Looks like a good idea and I think there is scope for both PA and PH to function and meet different needs.

   Ideally an aggregator which had some way of filtering peoples posts based on tags would be excellent, then post authors could choose where their comments ended up. I suspect the difficulties of getting this working properly might outweigh any benefits though.

   Hi TW, yes, I thought that too, but most people don’t seem to provide tagged or categorised feeds. If they do though, I’m happy to include them on that basis.
