Galaxy Zoo is too much fun. To think that I might be the first person in the world to see something in the universe is a great incentive to see what else is out there.

While classifying galaxies earlier today, I came across this stunning example of what appears to be the result of a collision between two galaxies.

I find it gratifying to think that I’m the first person to see this particular phenomenon, but it only seems more and more likely, when one considers the absolute vastness of space…

It’s amazing how looking at some photographs of the night sky can make one feel both humble and significant at the same time.
