Therefore/Null

therefore/null in a circle reversed

What does the logo mean?

The “therefore/null” logo consists of two mathematical symbols, the first one (∴) is ‘therefore’, as in the meaning of ‘thus’. The second (∅) is ‘empty set’ or ‘null set’, i.e. a collection with nothing in it.

Together, these two symbols (∴∅) take on the meaning that a conclusion has been drawn that the set is empty. This is what atheism is: a conclusion that no gods exist (that the ’set’ of gods, is ‘empty’ or ‘null’).
